Growing Your LinkedIn Company Page – The Basics on Increasing Followers and Engagement

When trying to grow your company, the power of your LinkedIn profile can play a significant role on the marketing side of your business. Many companies have LinkedIn pages but are not using their page in the most effective way to grow the company. Keep reading to learn three tips to help increase the following and engagement on your LinkedIn company page.

Complete your page

The first step in growing your following on a LinkedIn page is ensuring your page is complete. Complete LinkedIn pages can get up to 30% more views per week. A company page should include the company name and logo as well as an overview of the company. The overview is a short explanation of what the organization does and its mission. It is important to include relevant keywords in this explanation, so the page can be easily searched in LinkedIn. For example, companies that provide marketing services should include keywords like, “digital marketing” or “social media marketing” to reach their target audience. The page should also list the industry the company is in, a link to the organization’s website, and the address.

Decide how often to post

Once the page is complete with all necessary information, it is time to start posting. Posting quality content consistently is key to gaining quality connections and followers. This means posting content relevant to the organization at least once a week. Some recommend posting as frequently as possible, but this is not necessary. Posting frequently allows for higher views on the content however, it does not guarantee engagement or followers. Think quality over quantity.

Determine what to post

LinkedIn recommends adding photos in posts to increase engagement. Collages of photos, specifically 3-4 images, are known to perform especially well for organizations. Photos of people in the organization at events or giving back to the community are great examples of photos you may want to include. Make posts that acknowledge employees and even repost employee content when appropriate.

Allowing your audience to see behind the scenes of the organization helps them to feel more connected and typically receives higher engagement. LinkedIn also suggests videos can increase engagement up to five times more than regular posts. Videos can be used to inform your audience, but they are also a great way to give your audience a glimpse into the company’s culture. Consider adding photos or videos to your posts to increase engagement.

These three tips set the foundation for increasing the engagement and following on your company page. Try these out and check back here for more tips on growing your LinkedIn page.
